about me
Hi there! My name is Jennifer Dowden and I am a curious designer with a passion for contributing empathetic, intentional, and innovative designs. I am driven by my unique background of combined studies in human-centered, graphic design and computer science.
A large part of my identity is based on my visual impairment. Growing up with an invisible disability, I learned about the importance of perspective, teaching me that no one sees or experiences the exact same things. I understand what it is like to struggle because a product has not been designed with your abilities in mind. My lived experiences, combined with my learned experiences in design school, echo the importance of researching and understanding the perspectives of users and consumers for the designs I make.
In my free time, I love to engage in all kinds of cozy hobbies! Some of my favorites include video games (like minecraft, animal crossing, and stardew valley of course), cooking, and making art.
